About us

We are youth & children who offer a place to children

We are the only player governed by children and young people working for children and young people, and we tackle the confluence of poverty, exploitation and abuse in all its forms.

What we do

As young people working for young people

AMWCY activities begin with groups of children, led by themselves, acting according to their needs while respecting the 12 children’s rights defined by the organization.

  • Protection

These include advocacy, the creation of child-friendly spaces, family mediation and community dialogue, and the involvement of parents and leaders.

  • Skills Building

Representation in international forums such as the UN and AU, involvement in civil networks at various levels, and educating children about their rights and empowerment.

  • Civic Participation

These efforts focus on vocational training, autonomy in job choice and support for literacy and back-to-school programs.

  • Did you know?

Our 12 rights were defined by working children and young people themselves when the AMWCY was created. They are therefore at the heart of our advocacy.
