Pamodou Senghore is an active member of 𝐌𝐀𝐄𝐉𝐓 (African Movement of Working Children and Youth). He is a drawing artist and serves as the National Coordinator of the Associations of Working Children and Youth (AEJT) in The Gambia.

In this video testimony, he shares his joy and pride in having participated in the celebration of MAEJT’s 30th anniversary, an event that, in his view, significantly contributed to the advancement of children’s rights, especially by highlighting the importance of child participation in issues that concern them. Pamodou emphasizes the vital role played by 𝐌𝐀𝐄𝐉𝐓 within communities, as well as with authorities and child protection stakeholders.

He describes the Movement’s advocacy and awareness-raising efforts aimed at promoting a better understanding of the mechanisms for reporting cases of exploitation, abuse and violence against children. He also highlights the innovative communication tools used by 𝐌𝐀𝐄𝐉𝐓, including the annual bulletin and the animated series “𝐓𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐆𝐀”, which serve as powerful tools for raising awareness on key issues such as migration, child marriage, and child exploitation.

Finally, Pamodou proudly affirms how being part of 𝐌𝐀𝐄𝐉𝐓 has contributed to his personal development, his community engagement, and his recognition as a child protection actor. He concludes with a strong call to authorities, partners, and NGOs to strengthen their collaboration with 𝐌𝐀𝐄𝐉𝐓 in order to amplify the impact of its actions across Africa.
